|Quick cook Oats||1 cup|
|Turmeric powder||1/8 tsp|
|Water||1 & 1/4 cup|
|Sesame oil||1-2 tblsp|
|Urad dal||1 tsp|
|Channa dal||1 tsp|
|Ground nut (optional)||few|
|Curry leaves||1 sprig|
|Red chilli or green chilli||2-3 nos.|
- Heat a pan with oil and temper the items as in order. Fry till the mustard splutter in medium flame.Add the water,turmeric powder and squeeze the lemon,mix the salt. Bring to boil.
- Add the oats and mix well.Cook covered for 3 minutes in medium low flame.
I use sesame oil for vatral kuzhambu,puliyogare,lemon rice and these kind of tangy dishes. Oats normally have a dry texture,I prefer to eat only in form of poridge or just make it greasy with sesame oil like this.
