I got this recipe through mail from my friend Sangeeta along with the aloo bhindi recipe, she wanted me to post a wide North-Indian spread, so she sent all the recipes for the spread, but I am so lazy to make all together and post, so posting one by one
Ingredients
| Wheat flour/ Atta | 1 cup |
| Red chilli powder | 1 & 1/2 tsp |
| Oil | 1 tblsp |
| Ghee | 2 tsp |
| Salt | As needed |
| Ajwain(optional) | 1 tsp |
Method
| 1. Mix everything in a bowl except ghee well and add water to make a smooth pliable dough. Keep aside for 1/2 hour and again knead and make 6-7 equal balls. |
Serve simply with boondi raita or vegetable raita and pickle.
Vegetable Raita
This one goes well with the above paratha or any sort of paratha. Simple yet healthy.
Ingredients
| Cucumber | 1 |
| Tomato | 1 |
| Capsicum | 1/2 |
| Carrot | 1/2 |
| Salt and pepper | As needed |
| Coriander leaves,chopped | 1 tblsp |
| Curd | 1/2 cup |
| Milk or sour cream | 3 tblsp |
Method
This goes well with all parathas and even pulav/biryani.

ReplyDeletemy mil always makes triangle parathas. but i have never tried so far. nice addition of chilli powder and ajwain to this. nice parathas to pair with veg raitha. loved the first pic of the raitha
ReplyDeleteMy ma-in-law always makes chapathis this way,spreading some ghee in between the layers.I am happy to eat triangle chapathi than the round version anyday:)

ReplyDeleteMy dad always made these (He was incharge of rolling out chapathis every evening) when I was growing up.. I loved the ghee flavour and the layers... You are right that these make great lunches.

Hi, Usually I am doing with out ajwain, and chilly powder. But I like the picture and raita. I will try like this. Pl. provide good lunch box side dish. My daughter likes to take only chapathi, roti only. Pl. provide ideas about different gravy and kurma.

my mother always folds her chappathis this way and makes them. The layers make it all the more appetizing. Loved that you have added chilli powder too to it. and the raita is simply delicious!

ReplyDeleteAll the ghee between the layers makes the parathas tastier! My aunt makes this and I've tried it too :) The raitha balances out the extra ghee! ;) Good pair!

I always do triangle Paratha Raji cause my mom used to do it that...but the addition of Red chilli powder and Ajwain is the key here will try this out soon:)
