ReplyDeletehi.. I'm a newbie to Singapore and cooking :) been trying out several of your recipes and love them..they always come out great! This one has my mouth watering, but I wonder where one can find methi in Singapore. Can you tell me where you bought them from? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI tried this tonight and my friends loved it! It was so easy! Another easy Indian dish for this white girl to impress with =P Hehe. By the way I used spinach instead of methi because Montana does NOT carry things that cool.
ReplyDeleteHi Raks,
ReplyDeleteTried your aloo methi today and came out good...But when the potato in my gravy was not as roasted as yours..When the curry started sticking to my pan I drizzled some water and stirred it...I switched off the stove when the gravy used up all water...Should I have used oil during that time???
Shiny,
ReplyDeleteCook covered for some time(say 5 minutes)in medium flame and after that keep stirring at interval of 2 minutes for 6-8 minutes. Do not keep sprinkling water. Only once when you cover and cook. After that, if u want you can drizzle oil to avoid sticking to pan... hope this helps
nice dish
ReplyDeletecan u tell me wat cud be done to make it as a white gravy?
ReplyDeletei actually had it in this hotel at kerala...ever since ive been wanting to make it the same way!
Skip red chilli powder, turmeric and you can add green chillies and cooking cream to make it as gravy
DeleteI have been searching for a good aloo methi recipe ! Tried yrs and came out yummy ! Thanks !
