A flavorful traditional breakfast or dinner recipe made at my home. With rice and moong dal!One day I was very much confused 😖what to make for dinner and asking my friends I chat with ,what their plans for dinner. Then suddenly 💡this simple yet very flavourful one I got to remember, try once, may be you like it too! I wanted this to be in my space as this is a family favourite! My mom makes another variant too, which I will post later…This recipe will sound like pongal+Upma…😉but trust me,the taste is nothing related to any of these dishes..!
I served with coconut thogayal,I just made a variation of adding a sprig of curry leaves in it …

Looks soooooo yummy .. Loved the name for the dish Raji and different too. In madurai the sourashtra people makes Ven pongal which is very similar to this but different to what we make..as our pongal will be mushy.. Some time I too make this kind of uthiri pongal(My name for the dish) as I love it so much. Seasoning One addition is I add Pepper fried in ghee others are almost same. But the rice variety I use is Jeeraga samba. But never tried with thogayal will surely make this combo soon.
