Hi Raks, I want to try vegetable puffs but i am having a microwave with convention can i bake these veg puffs pls tell what is the procedure.

ReplyDeletehi raji

You can try using it, I am not sure. Try with smaller quantity to experiment with.

ReplyDeletehi.. it looks yummy.. i want to make a try..
ReplyDeletecan this puffs be cooked without oven?
You cannot get this texture of layers if not cooked in oven.
DeleteHi ,
ReplyDeleteI tried the vegetable puffs today.. It came out very well..
But wanted to check with you regarding the puff pastry sheet.. I got the Pampas brand, which is more like a block and you need to roll out the individual sheets..
May I please check which brand of the pastry sheets you had used ? and was it a block or do you have individual sheets which you can use as it is?
If it is a block, can you pls post pics of how to roll it out evenly into these rectangular shapes..
Thank you!!
What I bought is also pampas I think, but it was ready made rolled out sheets of 4 pack.
DeleteThank you for the quick response! Will try it again next time :-)
DeleteHi can I use the Spring roll pastry sheet for this recipe?
ReplyDeleteYou can bake it like samosa only, coz no layer will come.
DeleteIt looks awesome ! I am going to try this out tomorrow. Will post on your fb page once they r do e. Quick question though : Once you put the filling and cover it with the pastry..we would need to seal it right? Or just fold and Leave it? Would the layers come Well?
ReplyDeletereally looks too good
ReplyDeleteWhere can I get the pastry sheets in bangalore can't wait to try this recipe
ReplyDeleteWhere r u in Singapore, I'm in semei near changi airport, puff pastry is not in semei fair price, where do u buy , please let me know
ReplyDeleteWhich fair price do u buy, please let me know
ReplyDeleteTried this out and the taste was good but didnt achieve the crispness and colour as ur pic.. I had to turn the puff midway to make the top layer golden brown but still didnt get the sides in the same colour..
ReplyDeleteWhat might b the reason
Could it be any oven heating settings? Also milk wash will give you nice colour
DeleteCould it be any oven heating settings? Also milk wash will give you nice colour
Deletemilk wash mean? brushing milk along with butter before baking?
DeleteYes
DeleteHi raji, can u tell me baking temperature?
ReplyDeleteUsually, in all baking recipes, the pre heat and baking temperature are same. So in this case it's 220 deg C :)
DeleteHi Raji, how do I thaw the puff pastry sheet?
ReplyDeleteThawing means, keeping out in room temperature until it comes to maangeable texture. Usually thawing time will be mentioned in the pack itself.
DeleteI use regular puff pastry sheets available in Indian stores in US. What might be the reason for not getting many layers?? I would love to have layers in my puff just the way i used to see in puffs from Bangalore bakeries.
ReplyDeleteMake sure the pastry is stored in good conditions. Usually readymade pastry sheets gives layers without any special treatments. Hope you preheat the oven. Refer the package too for any specific way mentioned in it. Hope this helps
DeleteI'd like to make this a few hours ahead of the party. Any reheating tips?
ReplyDeleteCan these be made & stored in the refrigerator for baking the next day? If so how? And if not then if I bake them then what will be the best way to make them crispy again the next day. I have to make many for a party & I'm using Puff Pastry Dough.
ReplyDeleteYes you can, may be you can reheat again by preheating the oven at 190 and leave the puffs inside for 4-5 minutes.
DeleteReally yummers, thanks!
