Capsicum vegetable pulao recipe, Capsicum rice

Capsicum Rice
An easy capsicum rice which my MIL had tried few times after learning it from a TV show. Its easy for me because,there is no grinding part,just make it like the mild pulav we usually make….I made this today as per her instructions and the taste is just awesome!


Basmati rice 1 & 1/2 cups
Capsicum, small 3
Mixed vegetables,chopped 1 cup
Sambar powder
(Replace with redchilli powder and coriander powder)
2 tsp
Green chilli
Mint leaves (optional) few
Salt as needed
Water 2 cups

To temper:
Oil + ghee 4 tbsp
Cinnamon 1 inch stick
Cumin seeds 2 tsp


  1. Soak basmati rice for 10 mins. Cut the onions lengthwise and capsicum into cubes. Chop the tomatoes.
  2. step 1 Capsicum veg pulao - Chopped veggies
  3. Heat oil and ghee in the pressure cooker or heavy bottomed pan,temper with cinnamon and jeera.
  4. step 2 Temper
  5. Add onion and fry till transparent,add tomatoes and fry till soft.
  6. step 3 Onion,tomato
  7. Add the veggies along with green chillies,mint leaves and fry for 2 minutes in medium flame.
  8. step 4 veggies
  9. Add the chopped capsicum,sambar powder and fry for 2 minutes.
  10. step 5 Add capsicum
  11. Drain the soaked rice and fry in a non stick pan with a tsp of ghee until the moisture evaporates.
  12. step 6 Rice fry
  13. Mix the rice with the capsicum mixture and add water,salt and bring to boil. Pressure cook for three whistles in medium flame.
  14. step 7 Pressure cook
  15. Serve with any kind of raita and chips.

  • Veggies I used – potato,carrot,babycorn and beans. Its purely optional and of your choice.
  • You can use 2 tsp ginger garlic paste after frying onion. It gives a nice aroma.

Rava ladoo recipe, how to make rava urundai

Rava Ladoo, Rava urundai
Rava ladoo or Rava Laddu or rava urundai is an very easy to prepare sweet for Diwali! I made these last week for my loveable in-laws,these ladoos are everyone’s favourite here 🙂 This is one of the very basic ladoo we make for festivals like diwali. Mom makes this everytime I visit her specially for my in laws family and pass it through me.  She makes it as a mixture, I go there and shape it and give it to them. I remember this being called as seeni urundai too.
Thinking that I am trying something different to picture these rava ladoos,I made them look so unusual 🙁…Bear with it!!

Instant oats dosa | Indian oats recipes

Instant oats dosa recipe
Instant oats dosa is one which often helps me when I am hungry and need something quick, filling but guilt free. This is so easy to make just whip up everything and make dosa, no other fancy things to do! It comes out crispy and tasty too!


Instant oats dosa recipe

Prep Time: 5 mins    |  Cook time: 5 mins per dosa    Makes: 10 dosas


Quick cook oats - 3/4 cup

Rice flour - 1/4 cup

Wheat flour -1/4 cup

Green chilli - 1 no, chopped

Coriander leaves - 1 tblsp,chopped

Ginger chopped - 1 tsp

Cumin seeds/jeera - 1 tsp

Pepper - 1 tsp

Onion - 1, chopped

Salt - as needed

Water - as needed

How to make instant oats dosa method:

  1. Make a thin batter of the all the ingredients except onion. You can mix onion in the batter as well. No issues.

  3. Heat dosa pan and sprinkle the onions, if not mixed with the batter and then pour the batter to make dosa. Sprinkle little oil. Cook in medium flame and no need to flip,when the dosa becomes golden brown,take out and transfer to the serving plate.

  • You can omit onion and just make it plain oats dosa.
  • You can also mix the onion with the batter itself.
  • The consistency should be watery as we do for rawa dosa. Or you can make thick batter and make thick dosas as well.
  • Since we dont add much oil and oats have a dry texture,better eat it dunked in sambhar or chutney Winking smile.
Serve hot with podi and chutney or sambar!

Cauliflower kofta curry recipe, cheesy cauliflower kofta curry

Learn how to make cauliflower kofta curry, with step by step pictures. No onion no garlic recipe, still turns out delicious and rich. The original recipe uses broccoli,since me and my hubby don't like broccoli,I prepared the same with cauliflower.. I liked this recipe when I tasted first time at Sangeeta’s house,though she had made with broccoli…I asked her the recipe,but she was not able to give that time…Since she told me the recipe source,I just got the cookbook from Library.

Cauliflower kofta curry recipe


Cauliflower,grated - 1 & 1/2 cups

Potatoes - 3,boiled & Mashed

Cornflour - 1 & 1/2 tblsp

Garam masala - 1/4 tsp

Chat masala - 1/4 tsp

Pepper powder - 1/4 tsp

Baking powder - 1 pinch

Salt - As needed(3/4 tsp)

Oil - For deep frying

Cheese stick - 1, Cut into 8

Ingredients For Gravy

Tomato puree - 1 cup

Oil/Ghee - 2 tsp

Jeera/Cumin seed - 1 tsp

Ginger chopped - 2 tsp

Ginger paste (optional) - 1 tsp

Garam masala Powder - 1/2 tsp

Red chilli powder - 1/2 tsp

Coriander powder - 1 & 1/2 tsp

Salt - As needed

Coriander leaves,chopped - 4 tbslp

Milk - 1 cup

Cream - 1/4 cup


  1. Pressure cook the potatoes,peel the skin off and mash them well. Make sure there's no water.
  2. How to make cauliflower kofta step 1
  3. Heat a pan with a tsp of oil and fry the grated cauliflower. Cook covered in low flame for 4-5 minutes.

  5. Mix mashed potatoes,cooked cauliflower,corn flour,pepper,salt,garam masala powder and baking powder.

  7. Make small balls,by keeping the cheese cubes inside as shown in the picture.

  9. Deep fry in medium flame till golden brown and keep aside.

  11. For gravy,heat a pan with oil and splutter the jeera,add the chopped ginger and ginger paste. Add the tomato puree.

  13. Add garam masala,red chilli,coriander powders along with salt and fry well untill all the water evaporates.

  15. Again,add little water to make it to a thick gravy and add the coriander leaves and simmer for another 4-5 minutes.

  17. Add milk and cream little by little while you mix well,in low flame. Do not let the gravy boil in high flame at any point of time. Add the koftas lastly, switch off the stove.

  • I have made this with cheese in the middle,you can skip that and make just the koftas and pan fry the balls in a nonstick paniyaram pan.
  • You can try stuffing grated paneer or some mixed grated vegetables(carrot,cabbage and capsicum) too instead cheese for a different version.
  • Potatoes should not be overcooked. Otherwise, the koftas turn too soft if the mashed potatoes retain water because of over cooking.
  • You can replace corn flour with 2 bread slices. Grind in a dry mixer to make it crumb and then add. You can add bread even if your kofta is too sticky and loose.
Yummy cauliflower kofta curry is ready to enjoy with roties or any pulavs.I dint add cream,just added milk… It was really yummy ,just melt in ur mouth,my kid loved and enjoyed thoroughly!!I am trying no onoin no garlic recipe for the first time and totally satisfied with the taste!
