I liked this Corn Rolls Recipe when I saw in the cookbook I borrowed from library. The recipe needed ‘cream style corn’,which I was hearing for the first time. Then bought that too and tried immediately … Great snack for kids in the evening.

Notes:

Ingredients
Bread slices | 4 |
Cream style corn | 3/4 cup |
Onion | 1/2, chopped |
Garlic | 1, chopped |
Pepper powder | 1/2 tsp |
Tomato sauce | 1 tsp |
Salt | As needed |
Corn flour | 2 tblsp |
Sesame seeds | 1 tsp |
Oil | 1 tblsp |

Method:
- To Prepare the stuffing,Heat a pan with oil and add the chopped garlic. Fry for a minute and add the chopped onions and fry till transparent.Add the cream style corn and mix well.
- Add pepper powder and sauce and fry till you get a thick stuffing.
- Trim the edges of the bread and roll with a rolling pin to make thin squares.
- Prepare a batter with corn flour with 1/4 cup of water.Spoon 2 tsp of the stuffing in the bread .
- Apply the corn flour batter in the sides of the bread.Roll the bread carefully.Seal the sides.
- Give a quick dip in the corn flour batter and sprinkle or roll over the sesame seeds.
- You can deep fry or shallow fry in a pan. Make sure you fry all the sides if you are shallow frying. Fry until crisp.

ReplyDeleteHi Harsha, I dint dip in water and roll, just rolled as such. If your bread is crumbly try first flattening roughly with your hands or try pressing in between any two flat plates. I think milk bread will be apt for this as it is very soft. May be your bread is too dry that's y.
ReplyDeleteTried this with chicken keema filling! was awesome! your blog inspires me to try different things! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI tried this and used whole milk cream in corn instead of creamy style corn. It tastes good. Good recipe.. :)
ReplyDeleteHI AKKA......
ReplyDeleteONE DOUBT CAN V ADD PANNER INSTEAD OF CORN????? IF V CAN WN TO ADD
Yes you can add paneer. Just replace corn with crumbled paneer
DeleteHello raks...unlike others, this recipe was a big flop at my home. firstly it was difficult to roll bread & secondly corn with bread was not a good combination to eat. it only looked good but was hard to finish the batch. Disappointed.
ReplyDeleteIf its seasoned well, it will be good tasting, if you feel it's too bland, you can add potato, cheese and green chilli to this mixture and roll it.
DeleteCan you please let me know the baking time?
ReplyDeleteSince I have not tried baking this, I cant tell you the exact time, but something around 10 to 12 minutes. In between you have to turn over.
DeleteNew to me.. looking super yumm
